The 2nd tournament of the season for the Grand Lake Division of Anglers in Action is now in the books. A total of 133 teams ventured out to the Wolf Creek Park on Saturday, May 16th, ready to hit the water and fill their livewells. With rising water, floating debris, and storms predicted for the day, we converted to a trailering event, which allowed teams to travel to other ramps in the morning to launch.
Due to the covid19 situation, along with local and state guidelines, we instituted a drive-thru weigh-in process, which eliminated the crowds and gatherings at the holding tanks. We appreciate all of the anglers for their support in making this a seamless transition. From registration to final weigh-in, everything went about as smooth as possible. Thanks again to all that fished and to our great sponsors and local supporters that contribute to the success of Anglers in Action.

Congratulations to Jeremy Johnson & Joel Johnson on their win Saturday, May 16, at Grand Lake, OK. Joel and Jeremy just edged out the team of Justin McClelland and Mike Valster to capture the win, their first with the Anglers in Action Tournament Trail.

1st_grandaiamay16.jpg1st Place Overall: Joel and Jeremy reported catching all but one of their fish on a tube, targeting bedding areas from Honey Creek to the Shangri-La area. They took home a total of $3,400 for their win. Congratulations gentlemen !

2nd_grandaiamay16.jpg2nd Place Overall: Mike Valster and Justin McClelland took 2nd place overall Saturday, with 5 bass that locked in on 22.30 lbs. Justin & Mike fished areas between Sailboat Bridge and Horse Creek. They reported catching their fish on a 5 inch Big Bite Fighting Frog, in Tilapia and Hematoma colors. They contributed their success Saturday to the 22 lb. Sunline Power 2C line, which helped them with visibility in dirty water. Mike and Justin won a total of $3,100.
